Mafia at a villa near Toulouse with Katerina - 1 November

On Sunday evening, 1 November, after the crayfish hike, the community gathers at a villa near Toulouse to play Mafia with Katerina, our host from Toulouse. It's €10 a head, and you sign up in the chat. This is the finale of the Slavic Weekend and the fifth meet-up in the community's Mafia series.

How the weekend ends

The Slavic Weekend closes around a game table. In the afternoon of 1 November there’s the crayfish hike at a lake, then dinner with the catch at a villa near Toulouse. Once the table is cleared, we gather the players and start the Mafia.

Katerina, our host from Toulouse, runs the game. She’s the one who hosted the two-city Mafia at the villa outside Montpellier in August and the game at La Chistera in September. This time she plays at home, and we’re the visitors.

How the game works

Mafia is a team game of talk and bluff. By day the townsfolk hunt for the mafia, by night the mafia picks a victim, and the host keeps the whole thing moving. Rounds follow one another, and an evening usually holds several. At earlier games newcomers had the rules explained before the first round, and spectators joined the second or third game in place of anyone who was tired, so there’s no need to learn the rules in advance.

We play in Russian. For the Toulouse crowd it’s an evening at home; for guests from Montpellier and other cities it’s the last night of the trip before the drive back.

Price and sign-up

€10 a head. Sign up in the community chat, under the Slavic Weekend announcement: the table needs to know how many players to expect. The villa is private, and the address goes to those who sign up.

The crayfish dinner before the game is a separate thing, shared and chipped in for as part of the hike. You’re welcome to come only for the game.

The community’s Mafia series

This is the fifth meet-up in the Mafia series. The first game was on 18 April 2026, in a bar in central Montpellier. Games followed in May, then in August the two-city weekend at the villa, and in September La Chistera. Now, for the first time, the series travels to Toulouse.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost?
€10 a head for the evening’s games. The crayfish dinner before the game is separate: everyone chips in for it as part of the crayfish hike.
Who's hosting?
Katerina, a host from Toulouse. She ran the two-city Mafia at the villa outside Montpellier in August and the game at La Chistera in September, so plenty of people in the community have already played at her table.
I've never played. Can I come?
Yes. At earlier games the rules were explained to newcomers before the first round, and spectators stepped into the second or third game in place of anyone who’d had enough. You don’t need to know the rules beforehand.
Where is it?
At a villa near Toulouse that the community is renting for the weekend. It’s a private place: participants get the address in the chat, and we don’t publish it on the site.
Can I come just for the Mafia?
Yes. Every Slavic Weekend meet-up has its own sign-up, so you can come only for the game and skip the banya, Anti-Halloween and the crayfish.
