On Saturday 7 November 2026 at 20:30, the Vibe South of France community has dinner at Portofino, a small Italian restaurant on the Palavas-les-Flots seafront near Montpellier. Eight of us are going so far and everyone pays their own bill. To join, say so in the chat before Saturday so we can book a bigger table.

A seaside dinner, and everyone’s invited

Saturday evening, 7 November, in Palavas: one long table in a small Italian restaurant on the seafront, good food and plenty of talk. There’s no programme, no host and no whip-round, just dinner with our own crowd. So far there are eight of us, and the sooner you tell us you’re coming in the Vibe South of France community chat on Telegram, the easier it is to book a table that fits everyone.

How we found the place

Pure luck: we stumbled on it during a walk in Palavas. It’s a small Italian restaurant on the seafront, run by a young couple - she welcomes the guests, he cooks. One dinner there was enough to make us want to come back with company.

The photos on this page show four dishes from their kitchen: meat with Brussels sprouts, a first course served in a deep bowl, fish with vegetables and a rose-shaped dessert. The restaurant has its own menu, and everyone orders for themselves.

  • Where: Portofino (3 Quai Georges Clemenceau, 34250 Palavas-les-Flots), on the seafront at Palavas-les-Flots, a seaside resort right next to Montpellier. We sort out in the chat how everyone gets there and who’s driving.
  • Cost: you pay your own bill at the restaurant.
