Churches in France by City: Addresses and Jurisdictions

Our directory covers the whole of France, from Lille and Quimper down to Menton and Ajaccio, with Martinique and Guadeloupe thrown in. If you live in the South and want a liturgy every Sunday, start with Nice and Marseille: Saint Nicholas Cathedral and two Moscow Patriarchate parishes serve there. Next to the Russian-tradition parishes the table has Greek, Romanian, Serbian and Bulgarian parishes, Armenian churches and Ukrainian Greek Catholic communities. Schedules do change, so before you travel ask in the Vibe South of France chat, where some members go to services regularly.

How to read the directory

The table is split by region, and within each region by city. By “city” we mean the whole urban area: Paris and its suburbs count as one city, which is why Meudon, Clamart or Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois sit under Paris. The exact commune is in the address.

Each church shows which church it belongs to, in the words the parishes and dioceses use themselves, plus the language of services wherever that is published somewhere. What matters to you in practice is the language and the time. The “single source” tag means one primary source confirms the entry (a diocese directory, say) and we haven’t found a second; before your first visit to such an address, it’s worth checking again. We checked the addresses against primary sources between 10 and 20 October 2026.

Armenian churches and Greek Catholic communities stand next to the Orthodox ones because Russian speakers look for them too.

Where most of the churches are

Île-de-France has the most entries, 63, nearly all of them in Paris and its suburbs. The South and the east come next: Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur 51, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes 33, Occitanie 31, Grand Est 20. The other regions have fewer: Nouvelle-Aquitaine 14, Martinique 2 and Guadeloupe 1. By jurisdiction, Romanian parishes come first (92), then the Ecumenical Patriarchate (53, of which its vicariate of Russian tradition accounts for 23) and the Archdiocese of Orthodox Churches of Russian Tradition (38).

In Paris, Cathédrale de la Sainte-Trinité at 1 quai Jacques Chirac and Cathédrale Saint-Alexandre-Nevsky at 12 rue Daru are two of the churches with a Church Slavonic liturgy every Sunday. Lyon has two ROCOR parishes (77 cours Eugénie and 5 rue Sainte-Geneviève), a Diocese of Chersonese parish at 146 rue Sully and a parish of the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s vicariate of Russian tradition at 76 bis rue des Docks. In Strasbourg the Diocese of Chersonese parish of Saint-Grégoire-Palamas et Sainte-Attale (6 rue du Coq) serves in French. Whatever service times we know for these cities are in the questions at the end of the page.

Churches by city

Every church in the directory is in the table, by region and city: right now that is 270 churches in 126 cities. Service times stay out of it because they change. What we know about services in the southern cities as of October 2026 is gathered below the table.

Checked on 22 October 2026 against parish and diocese websites, the SIRENE and JOAFE registers and OpenStreetMap. Service times change, so check in our chat before you travel. © OpenStreetMap contributors

Nice

Saint Nicholas Cathedral (Moscow Patriarchate, Diocese of Chersonese) serves every week: the All-Night Vigil on Saturday at 17:00 (confession from about 18:00), and on Sunday the Hours at 9:40 and the liturgy at 10:00 (confession from about 9:30). The library is open on Sundays from 12:00 to 14:00.

The Church of Saint Nicholas and Saint Alexandra on rue Longchamp, consecrated on 31 December 1859, belongs to the Romanian Metropolis of Western and Southern Europe. Its Sunday liturgy is at 10:00, and outside services the church is open to visitors on Saturdays from 14:00 to 18:00. The same parish’s church at the Caucade cemetery holds the liturgy on Saturdays at 9:30.

Nice also has the Greek church of Saint Spyridon, the Serbian Chapel of the Dormition and the Armenian church of Sainte-Marie; we found no schedules for them.

Cannes, Antibes and Saint-Raphaël

The Church of Saint Michael the Archangel in Cannes (Archdiocese, Moscow Patriarchate) was built in 1894; services are in Church Slavonic, on the Julian calendar. There is no current service schedule in open sources; the latest dates from October 2024. According to the Tourist Office (December 2025), the church is open on Saturday from 18:00 to 18:30 and on Sunday from 10:00 to 12:00, and closed the rest of the time; the entrance is from 1 impasse des 2 églises. Since 2022 the church, its bell tower and the clergy house have been partly listed as historic monuments.

In Antibes, the parish of Tous les Saints de la terre de Russie (Ecumenical Patriarchate, vicariate of Russian tradition) serves in the Chapelle Saint-Roch, in French and Church Slavonic, on the new calendar. The parish dates from 1946, and open sources give no regular schedule. The fresco in the apse was completed in early 2024 and consecrated that July.

In Saint-Raphaël, right next to Fréjus, stands the Church of the Holy Archangel Raphael, built in 1961, a parish of the Russian rite. A 2019 letter from the vicariate places it in the Ecumenical Patriarchate; we found nothing more recent, and no website or schedule. The Romanian parish in the same town serves every Sunday: matins and confession at 9:00, the liturgy in Romanian at 10:00.

Marseille

Both Moscow Patriarchate parishes serve every Sunday. At Saint Hermogène (Archdiocese) the Hours are at 10:10 and the liturgy at 10:30. At the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God parish (Diocese of Chersonese) the liturgy is at 10:00, except on the Sunday of the Myrrh-Bearing Women; before it there is an akathist and the Hours at 9:00 or matins at 8:30, confession from 9:00, and on Saturday evening vespers, at a time that varies. The Kazan parish follows the Julian calendar and was founded in 2004.

Marseille also has the Greek parishes of Saint Irenaeus and of the Dormition, the Romanian parish of the Three Holy Hierarchs in the church of Saint-Cannat, a Ukrainian Greek Catholic community in the Chapelle Saint-Jean-du-Désert (every Sunday, liturgy at 10:00) and Armenian churches: the directory lists 8 of them. At the Armenian Cathedral of the Holy Translators on avenue du Prado the Sunday service is at 10:00; that is going by 2020 data, so do check.

Toulouse and Montauban

The Church of Saint Nicholas in Toulouse (Archdiocese, Moscow Patriarchate) serves in French and Church Slavonic, on the old calendar. Since September 2026 the liturgy at 10:00 is held twice a month, on the 2nd and 4th Sundays, with the vigil at 18:30 the evening before. When there is no priest, the church is open all the same: on Saturday from 18:00 to 20:00 (vespers or the vigil) and on Sunday from 10:00 to 12:00 (the Hours and the typika). The schedule changes, so ask in our chat about the next service. Getting there: bus 45 or L2, tram T1 or T2, stop Cartoucherie.

The Serbian church of Saint-Saturnin on avenue de Lavaur serves once a month, on one Saturday, from 6:30 to 7:30; the remaining dates for 2026 are 31 October, 28 November and 19 December, and the source calls them provisional. The Romanian parish of the Protection of the Mother of God is registered in neighbouring Launaguet.

Near Montauban, in the church of Belpech in the commune of L’Honor-de-Cos, the parish of Notre-Dame-du-Prompt-Secours (Archdiocese, Moscow Patriarchate) serves every other week, in French and on the new calendar. We did not find an exact schedule.

Montpellier

Both Montpellier parishes serve in French. The parish of Saint Helena and the Holy Cross (Archdiocese, Moscow Patriarchate) shares the Romanesque church of Sainte-Croix in Celleneuve with the Catholic community. The liturgy at 10:30 is held on three Sundays a month, but not necessarily the first three: going by the parish calendar, in October 2026 it falls on the 11th and 18th, in November on the 1st, 15th and 22nd, and there is no liturgy on 8 November. Getting there: bus 10 (stop Renaudel) or tram 3 (stop Celleneuve).

The Greek parish of Saint Philothea of Athens (Ecumenical Patriarchate) has served since 2000 in the neo-Gothic chapel of the Domaine de Grammont. One Sunday a month there is no liturgy; the calendar comes out monthly.

Whether anyone in Montpellier serves in Church Slavonic, we could not confirm. Your best bet is to ask in our chat: some members go to services.

Toulon and La Seyne-sur-Mer

The Church of the Resurrection in Toulon (Ecumenical Patriarchate, vicariate of Russian tradition) serves in Church Slavonic and French, on the old calendar. As of 10 October 2026, services are held every Sunday and on major feasts; the schedule published there covers April to June 2026: vespers on Saturday at 18:00, the liturgy on Sunday at 10:00, confession on Saturday at 17:30 and on Sunday at 9:30. The schedule has nothing for the months after June, so before you go it is better to ask in our chat. The entrance is at 8 impasse François Marcel; the postal address is 97 rue Centrale. The parish was founded in 1928 and has served in this building since 1976.

In neighbouring La Seyne-sur-Mer, the Archdiocese directory (Moscow Patriarchate) lists the Holy Resurrection community at the chapel of the Marist school. The community’s languages are Russian and French, and there is no public schedule, so ask in our chat about services.

Menton

The Church of the Icon of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow” and Saint Nicholas belongs to the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia (Diocese of Great Britain and Western Europe). We found no regular schedule in open sources. The patronal feast is on 6 November (24 October, old style): in 2024 the vigil was on 5 November at 18:00 and the hierarchical liturgy on 6 November at 9:00, and in 2025 the ruling bishop again led the feast-day services. Sources disagree on the house number on rue Paul-Morillot, so the table gives the street only.

Perpignan

The Holy Spirit parish (Diocese of Chersonese, Moscow Patriarchate) is the Chapel of the Holy Spirit at 11 rue Claude Monet. It has no website of its own, and its schedule is published nowhere, so ask in our chat about the next service: some members go there. According to the Metropolis list, the Romanian parish of Saint Spyridon worships in the Chapelle Sainte-Famille on rue Frédéric Bartholdi; the source gives no schedule for it either.

Other towns: Greek, Romanian and Serbian parishes and monasteries

These southern towns have no Moscow Patriarchate or ROCOR parishes. Here, briefly, is what we know about services; jurisdiction, language and address are in the table.

• Aix-en-Provence. The Greek parish of the Holy Archangels and Saint Anne (Ecumenical Patriarchate) serves on Sundays: matins at 9:00 or the Hours at 9:30, depending on the week, liturgy at 10:00, vespers on Wednesdays and Fridays at 18:30, feasts on the Gregorian calendar. The Romanian parish of Saint John Cassian in the Les Granettes district (buses 30 and 220), according to its October 2026 programme, has matins at 9:00 and the liturgy at 10:30, in Romanian and French. The nearest Russian-tradition parishes are in Marseille, ≈25-30 km as the crow flies.
• Avignon. The Greek parish of Saints Cosmas and Damian (Ecumenical Patriarchate, founded in 1979) serves every Sunday in French: matins at 8:45, liturgy at 10:10; the Lord’s Prayer is said there in eight languages, Russian among them. The Romanian parish of Saints Mina and Martin has an empty website and no schedule, and the Armenian association we know only from its 1995 registration.
• Béziers. In the chapel of Saint John the Baptist, the town house of the Dalmerie monastery (Ecumenical Patriarchate), set up in 1969 and renovated in 2021, the liturgy is served when a priest is available; the last one announced was on 6 September 2026 at 10:30. The monastery announces the next date; the regular Sunday liturgy at 10:30 is at the monastery itself, in Joncels.
• Nîmes. According to the Metropolis, the Romanian parish of the Meeting of the Lord serves in the church of the Lycée Emmanuel d’Alzon on rue de Bouillargues. For the Greek parish of Saint Anthony the Great the place of worship needs confirming, and neither of the two has a schedule.
• Grasse. The Romanian Metropolis mission serves in the Chapelle Saint-Jean; a calendar comes out monthly.
• Flayosc, near Draguignan. The Monastery of Saint Michael (Orthodox Church of France, Western rite): on Sunday matins (Laudes) at 10:00 and the liturgy in French at 10:30, Tuesday to Friday the liturgy at 7:30; the church is open every day from 9:00 to 19:00.
• La Faurie, near Gap. The Monastery of the Dormition of the Mother of God (Greek Metropolis) is active: according to its October 2026 calendar, Saturday at 16:00 brings the Ninth Hour and Great Vespers, and Sunday the Midnight Office and matins at 7:30, with the liturgy at around 9:45. What closed in 2017 was the old legal entity, not the monastery.
• Salin-de-Giraud, commune of Arles. The Greek Church of the Dormition, in an outlying part of the commune: according to the parish calendar from 23 August to 27 December 2026, on Sundays the Hours at 9:40 and the liturgy at 10:00, though some Sundays have no liturgy, so look at the calendar.
• Solan, near Alès. A women’s monastery and a dependency of Simonopetra on Mount Athos: on Sunday matins at 7:00, the liturgy at around 9:15 and vespers at 17:00; vespers every day at 17:00 unless announced otherwise. The programme comes out monthly.

• Dénat, near Albi. The Serbian parish of Saints Denis and the Prophet Elijah serves once a month: one Sunday (liturgy at 9:45) and one Monday (6:30-7:30). The next Sundays on the 2026 calendar are 18 October, 15 November and 20 December; the dates are provisional.
• Tarbes. The Serbian parish of Saint-Aventin holds the liturgy at 10:00 on about two Sundays a month (in October 2026, the 4th and 18th); the dates are provisional. There is also a Romanian parish in the Sacré-Cœur church, 10 rue des Pyrénées: the service calendar gives vespers on Saturday at 19:30, matins on Sunday at 9:30 and the liturgy at 10:00, mostly in French.
• Port-de-Bouc, next to Martigues. Two Greek Orthodox communities are registered at the church of Sainte-Catherine; we have not confirmed any services.

If there’s no church in your town

Most towns in the South have no parish of their own.
